1. If you have a very long flight avoid eating high sodium foods. Extra salt will cause your body to retain more water and bloat.
2. Drink lots of water. You get very dehydrated while flying and drinking more water before and during the flight will help with hydration and decrease bloating. I always bring a large refillable water bottle on flights. If you ever need extra water stewards are almost always happy to give it to you.
3. Give your immune system a boost with a vitamin c packet. It’s very easy to catch colds on airplanes and drinking an Emergen-C or similar brand boosts your immune system before you feel sick and also hydrates your body with the electrolytes included in it. I like to drink one before I go to the airport to give my immune system a boost and ensure Im properly hydrated.
4. DIY footrest with your carryon. If you have experienced swollen feet after a long flight it might be partly because you have sat with your legs straight down for a long time. Elevating your feet on your carryon helps with circulation.
5. Get up a lot. If you don’t have an aisle seat it might be a little harder but I highly recommend getting up every hour or 2 to increase circulation.
6. Dress in layers. Airplanes can be uncomfortably hot or very cold. Dressing in layers and carrying a jacket ensure you be the perfect temperature your entire flight.
7. Perform some stretches. I like to do seated foot point and flex, ankle rolls and leg extensions. Then standing up usually near the bathroom you can do arm circles, shoulder rolls, neck rolls, quadricep stretch, calf raises and toe touches.
8. Bring a small toiletry bag with you. If it’s an overnight flight or you have a big meeting to go to right after you land you can still come off the plan refreshed. I bring a travel toothbrush and toothpaste, facial wipes, lotion for dry skin, hair brush and travel size perfume.
9. Bring a portable charger. Not all planes have a place to charge your phone and if you are one to wear down the battery fast a portable charger could save you. If you need your phone when you get out of the airport to order an Uber, make a phone call, map your way to the hotel or simply finish your audio book on the plane it will make your travel experience less stressful if you’re not worrying about your battery life.
10. Bring disinfectant wipes or sanitizer. Many people use the portable trays that fold out in front of you but they hardly get washed. It’s a good idea to wipe it down before using it.
Thanks :) I’m sure you have a whole list of your own tips too
Great tips for safe and successful airplane flight. I really like elevating your feet on your carry on bag.
