Feeding Kangaroos at Cleland Wildlife Park

Feeding a kangaroo

Cleland is just a 20 minute drive from Adelaide and well worth the $20 admission ticket. Kangaroos, bandicoots and emus run freely in the open space design that rests on the hills behind the city. The park has a reptile exhibit, where you can see some of Australia’s most dangerous snakes and spiders. There is also a wombat, Tasmanian devil, monitor lizard, dingo, koala, and bird exhibit.

My favorite part about Cleland was that you could buy a bag of feed for $3 and feed the kangaroos and emus that roam around the park. The Kangaroos were very gentile and quite use to humans. The emus seemed to like people but they were clumsy and wildly pecked at your hand when you tried to feed them. Cleland is a great place to go to see some of Australia’s amazing wildlife.

Great photos! I visited there when I was in Australia the last time, but I wasn’t able to get as close to the animals as you did. Looks fun.
