The coastal walk is a well maintained path that meanders through the cliffs and features breathtaking views, small beaches, bays and rock pools. The Bondi to Coogee walk is 6km and one of the number one things to do in Sydney. I decided to only walk to Bronte and which took me 30 minutes from Bondi. The best way to do it is wake up early before all the crowds and take in the beautiful landscape, finishing at the Bronte Rock Pool for a refreshing cool off. The trailhead starts at Bondi Beach at the end closest to the Icebergs Pool. You could also swim in the famous Icebergs but there is an entry fee and did not open until 11. Instead, I decided to go to Bronte Rock Pool which is completely free to the public. After strolling atop the cliffs and taking in the stunning views I came to Bronte Beach which had a beachside café, public bathrooms, showers, a strong surf and the rock pool.

The Bronte Rock Pool was very clean and refreshing. There are no lockers but everyone was leaving their belongings by the side and it felt fairly safe. Bronte Beach had a great neighborhood charm, much different from the commercial strip of Bondi. After my dip in the pool I showered off and walked up to the street were there is a line of small local cafes. I grabbed a coffee and enjoyed the views of the beach.

Getting There:
From Sydney’s CBD it is about 40 minutes to Bondi using public transport. You can catch Bus 333N all the way there or can use the subway and stop at Bondi Junction and then hop on Bus 333N (stand A) for a 10 minute ride to Bondi Beach. If you decide to finish in Bronte you can take Bus 379 which leaves every 10 minutes back to Bondi Junction. I would highly recommend doing the walk on a clear morning around 8-9am to avoid the crowds and the heat.
